Celle que tous les parisiens imaginaient comme l’organisation la plus inefficace du monde gay a t dtrne par son homologue londonien, qui a dclar forfait 15 jours avant la date fatidique ! Connue pour produire la teuf la plus spectaculaire avec plus de 30 000 personnes, la « LOP London » a tout simplement renonc cette anne la production de l’vnement.
Pas de podium d’arrive, rumeurs d’annulation de la marche 48 heures du rendez-vous, annulation des chars : l’ambiance tait chaude chez les zindas de Soho. Alors, la nature ayant horreur du vide, mme chez Queen Elizabeth, les organisateurs des teufs les plus populaires se sont allis pour sauver les dgts et proposer un parcours vnementiel au public.
Samedi 4 juillet, comme chaque anne, rendez-vous 11h00 pour une marche militante, bruyante en sifflets mais aux chars de misre. L’annulation de la teuf, qui commen-ce gnralement aux alentours de 15h, a en revanche dclench une hystrie gniale: Soho, le Marais sur Tamise, est en transe : les mar-cheurs et marcheuses l’ont sponta-nment transform en gigantesque dance-floor urbain improvis, envahi de mixes hard house et progressive chapps des tablissements gays les plus priss de Old Compton Street. A Soho Square, domin des 4 tages du bar gay le plus hype de Londres, The Edge, toute la place chavire. Quelques rues plus loin, le trs chic » Caf de Paris « accueillait les promoteurs de Trade, DTPM & Substation (les principales soires gays londoniennes), allis pour la bonne cause dans un after gay pride encore plus humide que ceux aux-quels nous sommes habitus Paris. Tea Dance ddi la mmoire de Tony de Vit, le DJ rsident de Trade et gotha de la progressive en Grande-Bretagne, dcd la veille.
Ce n’est qu’ Minuit que les clubbers ont trouv chaussure leur pied : la trs Garage « Queer Nation », au Sub-station Brixton, a retenu notre atten-tion pour son public black gay cool, par opposition la plouquissime » G.A.Y. » l’Astoria, pollue par une programmation ringarde et facile. Autre teuf sympa et non moins exceptionnelle l’Hippodrome (la Scala Londonienne), blinde de monde mais tellement dj vu, Darling!
A 6h00, l’institution dominicale gay, « Trade », l’after le plus populaire et dmentiel, ouvrait ses portes, occu-pant la totalit des 8 salles de Turnmills. Pas de vente de tickets sur place, tous prvendus depuis plus de 8 jours. Et pourtant 2 heures de queue pour entrer, des bracelets magiques vendus au black 400 francs devant l’entre trouvent facilement preneur, surtout auprs des touristes et des provinciaux.
Prs de 5 000 warriors ont tenu jusqu’ plus soif, se trmoussant sur un son hard techno, torse nu, tremps de sueur, tous plus allu-meurs, bodybuilds, strodes et trash que jamais. « Trade », a cogne (la musique et l’ambiance), a drague, a mate, a cause, et c’est top. a fait surtout 8 ans que cette institution a ringardis les clubs, et incit les clubbers se coucher tt chaque samedi, pour participer au marathon dominical ds 5h3O. 15hOO, dimanche aprs-midi, les choses ont repris un rythme plus casual » : « Trade » a ferm ses portes. Les clubbers ont mauvaise mine, mais ils sont fiers. Et nases.
